Have you gone to a walmart in the last two weeks?

Go pick up some proper brass cased ammo for $.30/rnd.

So you think because your local Wal-Mart has .45 in stock than mine must to?

FYI I have called 8 local Wal-Mart's in North Central Florida for the past few months and can never track down ammo.

Please refrain from posting in ANY thread I create unless you have something worthwhile to add.

Please refrain from thinking you have any authority over me, or your opinion any currency. I will post in any god damn thread of yours I please.

Letting people know this is a shitty price for sub par ammo is a pretty worth while endeavor to me, no matter what your misguided self my think. People would be better advised to just go check their local wally world, which are being widely reported as currently being better stocked on ammo than any time in the last several months.

I drive for a living and I can pretty much guarantee, I visit more gun stores, sporting goods stores and Wal-Mart's than the majority of this board. As I said before you would have to have shit for brains to think that because 1 Store has something in stock that this must mean every store has that same item in stock.

I sell ammo on the side as well, I know what good prices are and what shitty prices are. I have sold 10's of thousands of rounds of ammo, so I highly doubt you can speak more intelligently on the subject of ammo prices than I can.

Not getting in the cat fight, but Im not sure where you've seen your reports.

The OP has said that in north florida there is hardly any .45 ammo to find. Im in south east florida and can verify the same. Not a single walmart around has had .45 in stock for at least 5 months.

A few local gun stores have em WAYYYY over priced as does the gander mountain. Im talking in the .50+ per range for FMJ. Forget good quality self defense ammo, if you can find it, its well over a buck per, well over.

Glad your LGS' have decent priced .45 in stock, but for many around the country, this i simply not the case.

Can tell you WallyWorlds in Ohio, KY, and Indiana do not have this available, and the little they have had in the last 5 months you could only get if you were really lucky or knew the people stocking it.

BTW, have you ever used the wolf steel cased .45?

I bought a box back in January for $17( I know, right!!!). I still have it because I was too chicken to shoot it off after the price hike. Im wondering how it performs. I've never shot steel cased ammo through my .45, though I've shot wolf and brown bear through my sks with no problems.

The ones here in southern Georgia are doing good if they manage to have more than 6 boxes of 9mm, I haven't seen .45 or even .40S&W since before christmas.

I shoot it from a Glock 21 all day long (well not anymore since I just stockpile now). It's dirty like any other wolf ammo, but I've never had a problem with it.

The super walmart in my town, which is one of the bigger ones in the area hasnt had ANY handgun ammo, besides 22 and .17 HMR for so long, they have started using the shelves as junk drawers. Lots of odds and end, over flow from the airsoft and paintball stuff, paper work/folders, returns, opened boxes of sporting goods items.

Its pretty sad and funny at the same time.

They arent too short on bird shot and slugs and have buck shot here and there.

Good to know. I figured as much, but since I've never shot em from a handgun, figured it never hurts to ask.

Thats the thing I like about .45's, is that even without a good quality JHP they can really put out some stopping power. Thats what I figured when I decided to keep the wolf for hoarding anyways lol.

Wish I knew more people in my area. Id love to pick up a case but cant afford 200 right now; it'd be nice to go in on it with a few people and break up the cost. Same for 7.62 they have.

What part of KY? I have bought the WWB 100 round value packs on numerous occassions at about 3 different ones within the last months here in Jefferson County. Yes, it sells fast, but they are getting it in.

The 40 S&W was $28.97 per 100. The 9mm was 19.97 per 100. The .357 sig was 23.97 per 50.

All from my local Wally world in the past three days (they do have a limit ya know)...

Yeah - the walmarts are starting to get their orders - I would wager they are the last to get restocked as they most likely have a fixed price contract for it.

I even saw some 38 +P last time I was grabbing their boxes 12 gauge slugs for $3. I grabbed some 44 magnum as well

Dang their limit!!!

I read multiple national firearms forums, that's where I get my reports.

I can pretty well guarantee if you call any walmart in your area and ask someone who works the morning shift in sporting goods when the last time they had 45 was, they will not tell you 5 months. Last week, they might have told you 2 or 3 weeks, MAYBE. Today, they will probably tell you yesterday. Seriously. Call before noon, and ask the guy working in sporting goods, he would know, because he is the one that sells everything they got in that day between 7 and 7:30 AM.

I have; they havent. I used to work for the very same walmart I mentioned earlier back some years. I worked in the loading docks and know their shippment procedures to the T.

They HAVE had SOME come in here and there, but it doesnt last long.

You're right, mornings are the best because they unload the trucks during 2nd shift they day before. Sporting goods usualy gets replenished the next morning by the 1st shift.

My walmarts are still high and dry.

Re: Wolf .45 Ammo In Stock $.40 PR

Well figured I would give an update on my ammo situation.

I have just returned from a trip from Indianapolis to Florida. The wife and I zig zagged our way down the east coast and I stopped in at every Wal-Mart I came across. I stopped at maybe 20 Wal-Mart's from out in the boonies of eastern Kentucky to right off the Interstate and I came across..................... 0 rounds of .45 and 0 rounds of .22lr in the bricks of 550.

So I will say again this Wolf at ammoman for .40 per round is the best price I can find anywhere.

They did have .40 and 9mm at the majority of these Wal-Marts FWIW.

Those calibers make me think you have a couple different barrels to swap on a pistol. That's pretty nifty if you ask me.
Walmart is always cleaned out(at least when I call or get there). I'm talking from L.A. to Portland, because I check all over here and when I was in Portland for 2 wks they had nothing. Well, just 17hmr, 22 short and some 22-250.

You all know what... it really WASN'T that long ago that I was telling people that my .45's were a pain to feed because I had to pay a whole *gasp* $0.16 per round *gasp* to feed, while I could feed my 9mm's for $0.09.

My, how times have changed. :(

I'm buying more handgun and 22lr at my local Walmart than I can shoot. And I shoot once a week. For some reason they aren't getting any bulk 223 though. I'm in northern Ohio.

AIMsurplus has .45acp for .35 per round shipped, to my zip anyways.

Re: Wolf .45 Ammo In Stock $.40 PR

I just picked up 3 more boxes of Remington UMC .45, 50 round boxes at two of the local wal marts here in KY. They were a little more pricey at $20 and some change a box, but they did have it in stock. Was hoping for the WWB as it is a better buy, but you can't be too picky in these times!
